Closing button (x)
I need help with the closing icon: I have noticed that when I click on the button, only the background is selectable, not the white 'X'.
Do you have any recommendations for a closing icon where clicking directly on the icon the whole icon is selectable?

As Vips_eLearn said, icons have transparent areas, and those areas aren't clickable. Plus, many icons are actually groups of freeform shapes. That means you can't give the overall icon different states.
I think it's best to avoid groups when something needs to be clicked. This post has info about working with icons.

That's probably because the icon has transparency, so it acts like a blank area. You can create a group with the X icon and a small shape of the same color as the background, and keep it behind the X icon. I've attached an example story file. The first two ovals have a close icon with a small shape behind it, and are grouped. The third oval has a regular X icon.
