Connecting line and arrows?
I am looking for a way to connect two lines to each other in Storyline, so they become a single object. Does anyone know if this is possible?
Regards,
Dave

Would a group work for you? Select them both, right click and choose group.

This makes them as one object, but doesn’t allow the two lines to be joined together.... like in a right angle.

Would motion paths work?

Not sure what that would do... that will just give a line motion, but not connect two lines.

Here is the closest thing that I could find and is exactly what I want to do, but you can't add arrows to the lines .... Under the shapes there are options for callouts at the bottom. if you make the callout itself transparent, then the line is actually three lines connected that can be moved as needed. This is not the purpose for this feature.. but the line is what I am looking for ... need arrows and endings... it is basically a single line with a couple elbows that can be manipulated. Strange that I am the only one looking for something like this (shrug). See the attachments.

Yikes! It appears that this is a much needed feature that is missing. Is there any chance that an Articulate Engineer is monitoring this forum to add new features?
Hi Dave!
I'm not sure I fully understand what you're looking for.
Your initial request was to connect two lines in Storyline. Have you tried using the Lines in the shape area?
Here's what it looks like:

Thanks, Lauren. I guess that will have to do. I was actually looking for a way to connect lines and lines to objects, much similar to what PPT does. But thanks for this... it is a good workaround. I appreciate it. Thanks!

I can second and third this. Elbow connectors do not come over into storyline well. They import as an image from PowerPoint, which makes them pretty much uneditable.
When I use the technique demonstrated above to recreate elbow connectors I run into an issue where the ends of lines and arrows just do not line up well at all as seen in the attachment.
Can this be a feature request?

Hi Jonathon,
What you're experiencing is correct, as any non-native Storyline shapes (including elbow connectors) will import as an image.
Storyline 360: Tips for Importing Microsoft PowerPoint and Articulate Presenter Content
Non-Native Shapes: PowerPoint shapes that aren't native to Storyline (e.g., heart shape) will be imported as images.
I’ll be happy to pass your thoughts on to our product team, but you can also feel free to detail them more through a feature request!
