Course Details Font Size - Articulate Rise
Hello,
I've seen several discussions on the forum related to increasing font sizes. My particular issue is related to the font size when using the "Details" feature to show particular modules that students can navigate to.
I understand that the font must be able to scale to the device a student is using, but on a laptop with a large screen the font looks extremely small. Have there been any updates to allow for font size changes in this area? (Screenshot attached)

Hi Allison— seems like most every other text field font and size may be altered except the table of contents. Also seems like a fairly trivial omission to correct. Any chance of this happening soon? I’ve been resorting to creating an html table of contents with links to individual rise files. Not ideal. But the fixed font size in the rise table of contents is simply too small....

TOC font size/options, allowing a learner to expand and contract TOC sections (start collapsed), and being able to have a learner bypass the TOC all together (course setting) would be welcome updates to see in the future.
Hi Marc and Cass,
Thanks for your feedback!

I am new to Rise and just noticed that four of my courses have no Details button and one does. I am not sure how/why it showed up, but I'd like to get rid of it. How do I make that happen?
For future reference, how to enter information to appear when a learned clicks the Details button? Thanks for your help.
Hi Tim,
There's not currently a way to get rid of the details button. I'm not sure why one of your courses doesn't have it, but that's not normal.
The details button simply brings the course description and outline up to the top of the screen so the learner can focus on that.
I hope that makes sense! Let me know if you have any other questions.

Since this thread is still alive, and was intended to address the font size issue of the course menu....has there been any movement on getting that done?

Soon it will be ONE YEAR since my colleague made the initial request. As we (and others) have pointed out....since font size changes are available on virtually every other text field in Rise this should be a pretty light lift. Can we do better than just canned responses?
Hi David,
We receive hundreds of feature requests every week, so prioritizing them is no small task and we take it very seriously. Here's an inside look at how that process works.
I totally get that it can be frustrating to wait for a feature to come out, but please know that we're doing our very best to bring our users the features they want and need as quickly as possible.
Let me know if you have any other questions!

I was just told that I need to come in and log this as a request. Obviously, I am not the first - but I guess (and I am being told in a separate email that) the more people mention it - the higher the priority will become. So here goes.
Please consider as an upgrade to the current system giving us the ability to increase the font size for the TOC. Thanks ~ Thanks for your request, Bill! We'll let you know if we add this feature in the future. 😁

Still seems odd to me that font size can be changed most anywhere else, but not the TOC. I hope you bump this up your priority list—would really be a welcome addition as I think many feel the front page TOC is so visible, yet so unimpressive.... we’re exploring ditching your TOC for a simple html front end, just to control the look. Not ideal...

Would welcome your thoughts on a preferred system for creating this front page, LMS's where this will operate without errors, etc. I had not even thought about this as a workaround. I feel bad for Articulate as the end-user wants to buy subscriptions for updating content - and are looking at Elucidat and Captivate as the first impression is so poor - while under the hood - the tools becomes far more functional.

It seems odd to just about everyone Marc. But don't hold your breath....we asked for this change well over a year ago, many others have agreed, but it seems like Articulate is content to keep kicking this particular can further down the road instead of actually doing something about it.

Real shame - our end-user just decided on Captivate 2019 for 16 user licenses. And the #1 reason stated was a poor first impression/TOC.
