Create trigger to rotate graphic by precise degree?

Hi. I created the attached cog graphic which I have inserted into five slides. My aim is for it to rotate by 72 degrees each time the slide appears, so that each tooth of the cog will appear as the "top" tooth, in turn. Is this possible within Storyline?

Thanks,

Stuart.

As far as I know there is no way of turning anything accurately in Storyline using a trigger. When I have done similar interactions, I have manually rotated the object in multiple states.I would then use a trigger to show each state as needed on the slide(s)

  • Hi, Stuart.

Kai's suggestion is a great one, and you can fine-tune it by rotating the shape by 72 degrees by using the Size and Position menu:

    I hope this helps!

Thank you. I'm very new to AS it's good to know those fine controls are available.

Presumably, you don't want the user to rotate the dial manually. If that's the case, just draw a 99% transparent circle (with no border) over the dial. That will block any interaction with the dial.

Is it possible to have it rotate counter-clockwise? I tried changing the values in the '"Rotate gear 72 degrees" layer to minus values (-72, -144, -216, etc) but that didn't do the trick.
