Creating an EXE file

Hello,

I want to publish my storyline 3 project and create an EXE file.

When i publish to CD, the storyline creates a flash EXE file and I need an HTML exe file.

The final result I need is 1 HTML EXE file and 1 HTML5 file.

thank you for your help.

      Hi,

Thank you for your quick response.
I *am *working with SL3 and the EXE file needs flash.
Is it possible to create an EXE file that does not ask for flash?

      thank you.

  • You will never get just one file, you get an exe file that allows the web content to run locally.

  • Updating to the latest version should remove the need for Flash

      Hi,

Attached is a printscreen of what I need.
This is an example from my customer who needs other storyline projects in
the same formats - html EXE and html5 file.
The example was made by another supplier and the customer does not work
      with him anymore.
When I publish the exe file needs flash.
      thank you
      vered

  • I think you are trying to attach something via email which will not work.

rhe publishing for storyline has changed it only produces html output and does not produce flash. Hence the publishing output has changed and the html5 file is no longer needed. your output is html5 only.

If you are being asked for flash I do t think you are running the latest version of storyline can you check the version number?

    Hello vered!

Like Phil mentioned, we do not see any of those screenshots in the thread. Most likely because you sent them via email instead of using the Add Attachment button in this discussion.

Your issue sounds similar to this thread. Was the project upgraded from Storyline 2? If so, can you try the steps Crystal mentions to see if it helps?

    1. Save and exit the upgraded file.
    2. Reopen the file.
    3. Publish with a slightly different name in the publishing window.

If I'm totally off base, connect with us in a case here, and we'll help figure out what's going on!

      Wowwwww

      It worked :-)
All I needed to do, is change the name of the file while publishing and the
      output is HTML :-)

      Thank you so much!

The solution was to change the name of the file *(Save as)* and the name of
the file in the publish window

  • I'm glad that you were able to find a solution, Vered. I appreciate you chiming back in and sharing with the community.
