Creating Closed Caption Files Using YouTube
Hi All!
I am trying to create an SRT/VCC file from an MP3 file. YouTube does not support the import of MP3, so I used an MP3-to-MP4 conversion program. I can import a regular MP4 file into YouTube fine, but when I try to import an MP3-to-MP4 converted MP4 file it gives an "abandoned processing" error.
1. I tried 5 different conversion programs.
2. I tried to convert to all of the video formats, e.g., MP4, AVI, WMV, etc.
Is there a way to import an MP3-to-MP4 converted file into YouTube?
Or, is there some other (free) way to create SRT or VCC files?
Thanks!
Keith
Hey Keith -
One way I've converted .mp3s is to import into Storyline > publish to video > upload the .mp4 file to YouTube. I've never had an issue or error using that method.
I've seen some threads and tips for handling the "abandoned processing" error in YouTube. Maybe one of those can help.

Hi David,
It worked! THANK YOU! Conversion via SL does the trick. It is, however, slow compared to other MP3-to-MP4 conversion tools and we have about 250 files to produce SRT's for.Hi All,
Does anyone else know of another conversion tool that works or some other solution? Thanks!
Glad Storyline worked, Keith.
One more idea: Have you tried VLC player? They offer batch processing to mp4: https://www.vlchelp.com/convert-audio-format/

Wonderful idea on VLC batch conversion! Unfortunately, YouTube does not recognize VLC-converted MP4 files.
