Creating Electronic Calipers

This file is decidedly more accurate

I was able to build on the above:

• Added rate.
• Made the calipers lockable for marching out regularity.

I'm sure someone smarter than myself can tidy up my sprawling mess of variables, but maybe this will save someone some time and grief. 

Thank you all for this thread. I learned a lot and am walking away with the solution to a problem I've wanted solved for years!

You could do this with two slides and a bit of maths

Phil, that is awesome. I don't know if the variable/math handling has changed, but when I built my calipers a few years ago, I couldn't make it work without javascript. Being able to do it with Storyline's variables is gonna be a big help on a couple of upcoming projects, and that invisible layer trick is really clever. Thank you very much for sharing this!

I would love to use something similar to Rob's creation, but I am getting a little lost with all of the variables. Is there anyone who would be willing to break this down for me?
