Dead Space at the bottom of a slide

I am currently building a series of modules that have a bespoke button set. The client wants these to be placed at the bottom of the slide.

Looks like it has been a year since anyone posted on this but I am experiencing the same issue. Dead zone at the bottom of my slides which goes away if I enable the player buttons.
