Dead Zone

Is there ANY possibility of the dead zone at the bottom of SL slides being remedied? It is still dead after 4 years. It WILL work IF I activate the volume control in the player. Otherwise that area will not work with triggered items.  Just wondering?

  • Oooo, I remember the dead zone: a weird quirk (aka bug) in which a strip across the lower part of the slide didn't recognize clickable objects. For example: a button aligned at the bottom of the slide wouldn't be clickable. Or, at least, it wouldn't be clickable for the lowest part (like maybe the 30 pixels closest to the bottom). The arrow cursor wouldn't even change to the hand cursor.

SylviaWright : I don't see that problem nowadays. I just tried to replicate the issue, but couldn't. With both the Modern and Classic players—and without the Volume control—a button at the bottom of the slide was clickable.

You could upload a .story file that demonstrates the problem, though if it's really got a dead zone, it might be a corrupt file. So perhaps the best way forward is to contact support: https://access.articulate.com/support/contact

  • Not sure what you are calling the dead zone at the bottom. If you could send a screen shot we might be able to figure something out for you. You may need to use a customized player.
