Direct Stock Image Library Integration in Rise 360
- 1 month ago
Yes, I'd find this useful. We run into the same problem: orgs pay for stock seats, and the images end up living in a shared drive or a DAM, completely disconnected from Rise.
Until it's a real feature, what works today:
- Content Library 360 is already built into Rise's media picker. Millions of stock photos, illustrations, and icons, all rights-cleared. Not the same as your org's licensed library, but it covers a lot.
- Drag and drop. Open your stock library in a browser tab next to Rise and drag the image straight into the image block's upload zone. No downloading and re-uploading.
- Keep the paper trail. Paste the source and license into the image's alt text field or a note, so you have it if anyone audits usage.
One honest note: this is a feature request, so the Ideas board (Exchange > Ideas) is where product actually tracks this kind of thing. An external integration would need each vendor's API plus your org's license terms, which is probably why it hasn't happened yet.
Thanks for sharing these suggestions! The drag-and-drop option is definitely helpful.
My main interest with this feature request is the ability to streamline the workflow for organizations that already have approved/licensed stock libraries. Being able to search those libraries from within Rise and insert an asset directly would make the process much more efficient, especially when developing a large number of courses.
I’ll also take a look at the Ideas board since that sounds like the better place for Articulate to track this type of request. Thanks again for the helpful information!
Exactly — searching an approved library in-product is a different beast than drag-and-drop. When you're building a lot of courses, every context switch costs you.
Happy to help. Hope the Ideas post gets some traction — this one has more votes than you'd think.
