Disable retake ability of a quiz
tried it, but it didnt work. is there a variable i can use?
If there's no "Retry Quiz" button, the user should not be able to answer the questions again. If they are able to re-answer the questions and get a new result, I'd guess there's something else in your file that's resetting the quiz.
- I suggest that you upload a copy of the file, with only the quiz part. (If there's proprietary content, just change it to ipsum lorem or other bogus text.) That will make it easier for someone to troubleshoot.
BTW, you could use a T/F variable to track whether or not they attempted the quiz. Give the variable a default value of False. Put a trigger on the Results slide that changes the variable to True. Then you could add triggers that make the navigation buttons skip the questions with the condition that the variable = True. Or, on each question slide, you could add a layer that covers the base with a message that there are no attempts left. Also add a trigger to each question slide that shows that layer when the timeline starts with the condition that the variable = True.
Also, remove the question slides from the built-in Menu if you're using it (Customize the Menu in Storyline 360 - E-Learning Heroes (articulate.com) ).
Actually, here's another option if the quiz provides immediate feedback: delete the "Hide layer" trigger from all of the Continue buttons on the Correct and Incorrect layers. The feedback layer will stay open, and that prevents the user from changing an answer on the base.
I was able to fix it on the quiz. Is there a way to make the quiz override the lms retake option.

If your LMS has a built-in retake button that grants learners a retry attempt for your quizzes when clicked, you'll need to reach out to your LMS administrator to see if this can be disabled. Just to confirm if the retake button you are seeing is part of your LMS, would you mind sharing a screenshot of the retake button here so we can take a look?
