Embedded YouTube Videos
Hello, Here's what I've figured out:
- Brightspace Classic Content Experience
- YouTube video in Rise course plays as expected
- Brightspace New Content Experience
- YouTube video does NOT play if using Embedded Player
- YouTube video will play if SCORM is opened in a new window
It doesn't seem to be an LMS-specific behaviour.
On the mp4 note, I have figured it out. The video was incorrectly added to the Rise course.

Thanks for following up and sharing the additional feedback.
Based on what you've described, this behavior appears to be related to how Brightspace's New Content Experience renders SCORM content, rather than an issue with the Rise course itself. The key indicators being:
- The video plays in Brightspace Classic.
- The video plays in NCE when launched in a new window.
- The video only fails when viewed directly within the NCE embedded player.
It sounds like the course works in one LMS view and in a new window, but fails only within a specific LMS experience. Typically, this points to security restrictions, or player configurations with the LMS.
I suggest testing the SCORM package in a completely neutral LMS environment, such as SCORM Cloud. If everything plays correctly there, it helps confirm the Rise output is functioning properly and the issue is related to how Brightspace NCE is rendering the content. However, if it does not work in SCORM Cloud, we're happy to investigate further through a support case.
