Embedded YouTube Videos
I also have the same issue with embedded videos in Rise 360 courses when uploading SCORM packages to Brightspace New Content Experience. The videos may work correctly when previewing the course, but once the package is uploaded to Brightspace, they do not play as expected. It is confusing because Rise 360 appears to handle the video embedding differently from the standard YouTube embed code, and it would be helpful to understand whether Embedly is causing a compatibility issue with Brightspace NCE. Has anyone found a reliable workaround that allows embedded YouTube videos to play correctly without having to rebuild the entire course?
Hi julie40,
Thanks for joining the discussion! You may be able to get this working without rebuilding your course.
If your videos were added using their YouTube URLs, sherrif reported that replacing those URLs with YouTube’s embed code resolved playback in Brightspace’s New Content Experience. You can try this in your existing course.
- Open the affected video on YouTube using a computer, select Share > Embed, and copy the code.
- In your Rise 360 Embed block, replace the current video link with that code.
- Republish the course for your LMS, update the package in Brightspace, and test playback.
If you’re already using embed code or the issue continues after this change, test the same published package in SCORM Cloud. Comparing the results can help narrow down where playback fails. You’re also welcome to open a support case and share the affected package and test results privately so our team can take a closer look.
Let me know how it goes!
