Export audio to word doc

Is there any way to export the audio from a storyline file into text in a word document?

  • Hi Matt,

    Thank you for reaching out!

I understand that you want to convert audio into a text readable document, is this correct?

We have a feature request for the ability to automatically transcribe audio or video to text. I added your voice to the report, and I'll be sure to update you if I have any news to share or if this request makes it to our product roadmap

How did the audio get into Storyline? If you used Text-to-Speech to generate the audio, you could export to Word or Translation to get the text out. If you recorded the audio, you'll need to use a transcription service. My team likes to use Sonix.ai. You can right-click > export audio then import to sonix.

Alternatively, if you write out the captions of your recording in the captions editor, you can export a vtt file, and then clear the timecodes. Of course, using sonix might be better to create the captions, and import them to your audio.

Thanks Pierre, some great suggestions. I'll try some of these out :)

  • Hello MattBurgon and ID4WiscState, 🎉

I have some great news to share! We just released another update for Storyline 360. In Update 100, we’ve included essential fixes and new features. One of the new features we’ve included is:

Launch the Articulate 360 desktop app on your computer to take advantage of this update, and click the Update button next to Storyline 360. You’ll find our step-by-step instructions here.

Please let me know if you need additional help.
