Fading Audio Out
I was running into a situation where I wanted to use the super cool background audio feature only on certain slides in my course (in between sections), but wanted it to fade out after my student clicks a "continue" button to resume the training. Using the "Stop media" trigger made it abruptly cut off, which was not what I was going for. So I used triggers to turn the volume of the background audio down in increments on my "transition" layer which helped me accomplish a pretty nice "fade out" effect I think! I attached a screenshot of the triggers I used and an example story file to see it in action! You could create even more cue points and triggers to turn the volume down in smaller increments to really get a more precise fade, but I was satisfied with the outcome the way I did it. I know you asked about fading an individual audio file, and my example is controlling the background audio file which is totally different, but just thought it might spark some ideas. Maybe try uploading your audio file in the Background Audio list and only playing it when it gets to the slide you want the student to explore. Goodluck!
Thank you for sharing this! It worked brilliantly in my project and allowed me to micro-manage my fades in and out to the levels I wanted. Appreciate the share.
