Fill in the blank knowledge check
Hi There
I'm new to using rise. Is it possible to use the fill in the blank knowledge check question as more of a reflection activity for the learner where there is no right or wrong answer? Is there a way to change the settings so that the learner cannot get it wrong as it's their own reflection? Or is there another tool I could use for this purpose?
Thanks
Jess

Hi there, I am just now searching for this capacity in Rise. Interesting to see this conversation starting years ago. Any news on this front? Will there ever be a function in Rise to provide a space to learners for self-reflection that is not graded.

Hi LindsayHunt-0c5,
Thanks for checking in on this!
Since this discussion began, we've introduced Survey Blocks in Rise 360 Labs, which support short- and long-form text responses and can be used to collect learner reflections.
I'm curious whether Survey Blocks would meet your needs, or if you're looking for a different type of experience, such as a non-graded reflection activity that's integrated directly into the course flow. We'd love to learn more about your use case.

I was playing around with replicating the fill in the blank Rise actions in a reflective question storyline block and this is as close as I could get. Let me know if anyone can polish this further. Would love to have this native to Rise though in the future.

Yes, PLEASE! Totally need this ASAP. Could be as simple as being able to toggle "mark incorrect" for the write-in responses. Please, please, please provide an option for a reflection response. Thank you.

An interesting “work-around” would be a program such as Nearpod.
I recently started using this program: really enjoying the rapid development; ease of implementation; positive UX; and varied interactive-knowledge check capabilities. It integrates w Google Classroom as well as other true LMS: https://nearpod.com/lms-integration
I have not tried to insert a Nearpod into a Rise course yet like I have done w Google Forms. But it may offer the free response function.
