Would you be willing to share your .story file so we can help you troubleshoot? I'm curious about the triggers you have set up.
A text-entry freeform slide usually has built-in triggers, so you shouldn't have to manually create any of them. All you need to do is define the acceptable answers, the field you want to evaluate (the entry field the user will type in), and which button will submit the interaction. You can do that in Form View.
