Grouping Button Sets?
Hello MattOckenfels-c,
Thanks for reaching out!
The behavior you observed is expected because grouped objects behave as one. When you select one object in the group, and its "Selected" state is activated, the same event occurs for the rest of the objects in the group. If you need a quick wait to animate multiple objects, use the animation painter instead. Hope this helps!
Could this behavior be changed (as a feature request) to not treat grouped buttons as one button? I can't think of a good use case for wanting multiple objects and/or buttons to act as one large button. Even if I did want that, I could use triggers to make that happen, whereas if I want the opposite, it's not possible in storyline. Having them separated makes it more difficult to animate, move, and adjust the objects in the timeline together. Also, painting the animation on two separate objects, even with the same timing, does not give the same spacing and timing as them being grouped.
Example: a pop-up or callout with multiple buttons. I would like to keep all objects in the group together so I can easily organize & move them as one, but I don't want the buttons to behave as one:
