Having Trouble Dropping an Object Into a Scrolling Panel

One thing that can help is to be sure your cursor is well within the panel before dropping the object. Sometimes I’ve been successful dragging the object onto the panel on the timeline.
It just speaks to the poor design of the feature that there are so many believed solutions to this issue, but none of them are reliable, and there's always someone else with their own possible solution/recommendation...
