HELP!! Test or Assessment slide
Hi folks...I have not used Storeyline before only Rise and that has very limited options with regard to interactivity. I also don't have much time to get the resource developed for my employer and the huge amount of information to go through in order to be able to learn what I need in Storeyline presently.
Can anyone forward me the actual process for a Storyline slide that I can follow, where the slide holds an image or graphic illustration that learners can move labels into the right place on the illustration or image?
Thanks for your help!

It sounds like what you want is a Freeform drag-and-drop question.
- Insert the image/illustration.
- Because you'll be editing & moving objects on top of the image, I suggest you lock it in place. To do that, click the corresponding checkbox in Lock-icon column in the Timeline. (Note: You'll have to unlock the image whenever you need to select it for editing, etc.)
- Insert objects over the drop-target areas. Either of the following would be invisible to the user:
- hotspots (advantage—these will be visible to you while you're editing; disadvantage— hotspots don't have States)
- I think this is the best option for your situation.
- shapes with no border and a solid fill with 99% transparency (advantage—shapes can have States; disadvantage—these shapes will be invisible even while you're developing in Storyline)
- hotspots (advantage—these will be visible to you while you're editing; disadvantage— hotspots don't have States)
- Insert the objects that should be dragged to the targets.
- Give all objects meaningful names. This will programming and troubleshooting easier.
- For a drag-and-drop, I indicate whether an item will be draggable by starting its name with "d-"; target names start with "t-".
- Convert the slide to a Freeform Drag and Drop. The conversion button is on the INSERT ribbon.
- In FORM VIEW, indicate the Drag items and the Drop items.
- Adjust the QUESTION settings as desired, including the Drag & Drop Options.
That's a basic overview. For details, here is the User Guide article about creating a Freeform drag-and-drop: Drag-and-Drop Questions in Storyline 360 - E-Learning Heroes (articulate.com)
FYI: The User Guide has lots of good instructions for using Storyline. I suggest you bookmark it: Articulate Storyline 360 User Guide - E-Learning Heroes
- Insert the image/illustration.
