How do I rotate an object in a drag and drop exercise?

I am creating a drag and drop exercise and am having learners drag and drop labels to their respective components in an architecture diagram. One of the components is labeled vertically. I don't want it vertically in the items to drag/drop box because it will be a huge giveaway. I am trying to rotate it on "drop correct". I tried states and rotate is grayed out, so I couldn't do it there. I tried annimations, while rotate is on the animation page it doesn't have a star next to it so I don't think it is truely an annimation. It just changes the default position, not impated by timeline or trigger.

I'm new to Storyline and looking for an eLearning hero. Any ideas?

  • Thanks for this alternative. The challenge I had with the annimation was getting it to line up in the drop zone. I will give it a try and let you know if it works for me.

  • I tried all these suggestions and for whatever reason they did not work for me. I decided to try a different approach. Since I couldn't get the drag item to change, I added a disappearing animation for the drag object and modified the drop object to have the desired sideways text. Note, it did not work when I used the state "drop correct". I changed it to "Drag Over" and not only did it work, but it also only changes to that state if you drag the correct item over it. Win!
Thanks to @Walt and @Nedim for all your help.
