Icons on "flashcard" button not disappearing in selected state

I'm having the same issue. Very frustrating, have wasted hours troubleshooting this but am glad to have finally found this thread so I know it's a bug. Has anyone found a workaround that actually works?

I ended up just deleting all the shapes and icons I was using on the various object states; and then  replaced those groupings with a jpg image instead and this seems to work. Ugh...

    Thank you for sharing your voice with us! We've determined that it's expected for the objects in the 'normal' state to persist in the other states because Storyline treats the latter as layers on top of the 'normal' state. As a result, the other states are adornments of the 'normal' state. Because of this, we've considered this a feature request instead of a software bug.
