Images size changed to half

The zoom only increases the image size to its maximum size when constrained within the slide dimensions, looks like your images original size is  smaller than their size on the slide.

I am aware of that.  But it squished before I even zoomed it.  I'm working on a French copy but never touched the images from the English copy which works fine.  

Now weird things are happening. I saved the file and removed most of the slides not impacted. Some remained to save time that were not impacted. Now the slide alignment is strange but preview works except the image is out of the border.  Never seen anything like this.

Next, I re-opened the one I was going to initially send before saving and things looked ok.  So I resaved it to my good copy and now it's fine. 

Cannot explain it. Hope it doesn't happen again.
