Importing PowerPoint slides into SL 360 but images do not import

Firstly, is SL 360 the right Articulate product to convert a set of PowerPoint slides into a training object?

Secondly, when I import the slides, I don't get any of the images, just the text - am I doing something wrong?

I suggest you review these articles:

From what I have been able to learn about the history of StoryLine, yes, I would think that SL360 is the best platform for converting PowerPoint decks into training objects.

You could also use Rise, as explained here: How to Turn PowerPoint Slides into Engaging Rise 360 Courses | Articulate - Community

When the images do not import, it could be a number of issues. I would start with ensuring that you are working from your local drive (C:\Documents\My Articulate Projects...) not a OneDrive or shared network location. So move your PPT(x) file to the same directory location.

It could also be that you are experiencing some effect of the current AWS outage that has brought the commercial online world to its knees... So reboot, restart the program, and try again.

And it could be that the images in the PPTx file are linked, not directly embedded. (I've seen that happen before.)

  • Nikki,

Yes Storyline 360 is a great program to use to convert your PPT slide deck to an E-Learning presentation. Next, JHauglie has some good information. Storyline works best on your hard drive. Things get lost, corrupt or out of sync working on a cloud-based storage system.

Next is the biggie, make sure everything on your PPT presentation is embedded in the program. Links don’t work well in the transfer. If your graphics are linked you may need to relink everything.

I have been moving most of my PPT to Storyline for several years and I first check over everything in the PPT and then make sure my slide size matches before I do the import.

    Good luck
