Thanks for reaching out and I'm sorry to hear you're experiencing this issue. I'm happy to help troubleshoot! First, I'd like to confirm that you're working on your local hard drive. Working from a network drive can cause erratic behavior or file corruption.
Next, have you checked if the slides you're attempting to import have the same slide size as the new file? To check, Go to the Design tab on the ribbon and click Slide Size. Or, click the slide size dimensions link in the lower-left corner.
