Importing Storyline interactions into a Rise course - showing a black screen with a play button
Hi - I have built a couple of interactions in Storyline (one is a labelled graphic and the other is an unjudged multiple response question). I then imported them separately into different parts of a Rise course I built using Interactive > Storyline > and selected them from Review 360.
Everything imported correctly but when I preview the interactions in Rise in mobile view, they come up as a black rectangle, a title and a play button, which is obviously a really bad user experience.
Shouldn't the Storyline interactions just display as normal parts of the content instead of making the user click a play button?
I haven't added any media (video or audio) to either of these interactions (one of them just has a still graphic and the other is just text).

As I understand it from other, similar discussions, phones don't auto-play SL blocks, even when there's no audio or video. Mobile devices have different settings/restrictions than other devices.
Hi DBlakney!
Happy to help!
As Judy shared, the behavior reported by Thinkaway is expected due to limitations of mobile browsers. It is currently not possible to auto-play Storyline Blocks, in line with Rise 360 courses. We understand this can be limiting for our authors, so I've shared that feedback with our product team. We'll be sure to update you if this enhancement makes it to our product roadmap.
- In the meantime, I found a related discussion, where another user shared a workaround to achieve a similar design.
Have a great start to your week!
