Inserting GIF files into Storyline
Hello!
I am working on an eLearning projext that requires a lot of GIF files from the client to be integrated into the learning.
While searching the forums I found several posts where people got help in making GIF files work and a few saying that GIF files need to be converted to SWF files.
Which is correct?
Can I insert a GIF file into Storyline? If so How?
If not - how can I convert the GIF to SWF?
Thanks

I have the same problem : I have this animated gif who works fine in my browser and on Windows viewer (see attachment), but when I insert it in storyline it becomes a static picture.
Any idea ?
I created it with Photoshop. What are clearly the correct options for exporting gif working in storyline please ?
Hey Gillian,
Thanks for your post and for including that GIF file. When I inserted it onto a Storyline 360 slide, I saw the same problem you did. Strange thing is, I can insert other GIF files without a problem.
I'd like to share this with our Support team to get some further insight. They'll reach out as soon as they have more to share with you!

Hi Alyssa,
Thanks for your reply.
As I told to your the support, I tried to export my gif again by changing some parameters (the size of the image) and strangely, it worked fine.
It would be great if the articulate support wrote an article about the properties that gif must have to work in the software.
Best regards,
Gillian
Hi Gillian,
Thanks for letting me know how you were able to solve it! I'll definitely pass along that feedback to my team. 😊

Hi Amilcar,
I tested your gif in Storyline 360 and published it to Review 360. I was able to view the gif both while previewing and in the published format.
Take a look at this Rise 360 link. Did you try to insert the gif as a picture?

The problem has a solution, if you want to use the modern environment, simply, you go back from classic to modern and run preview and now if it works, maybe when you move it to classic it takes some feature that is missing in the modern environment and when you take it back it already acquires that characteristic. the fact is that it works.

to run the preview close the file after you change the environment again open the file and run the preview

SHOULD NOT WEIGH MORE THAN 15 KB THE .GIF

Hi, I'm going to add to this discussion. I just updated my Storyline 360 and I still don't see where or how to add a gif. I have several video types, but no gif option. I've included an image of where I "believe" I need to be to add a gif with the gif showing in the folder.
I've also attached the gif.
Can someone tell me what I am missing?
