Issue with automatic translation in webbrowser
Hi FamiliezorgO-Vl,
Thanks for bringing this up! It’s a great observation, and I can see how that would be frustrating, especially when it seems like there are errors in the course, but it’s actually the browser’s automatic translation causing the issue.
Browsers like Chrome often translate content based on user settings, which can unintentionally alter course text, especially when sharing Rise courses via a link instead of through an LMS. This issue can make accurate course content appear to contain errors.
Using an LMS can offer more control over the learning environment, which may help prevent unintended browser behavior like this. I recommend testing your course in SCORM Cloud, a free LMS testing platform. This helps verify that browser-based translation won’t interfere with content once it’s hosted in a proper LMS environment.
Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have additional questions.
Thank you, EricSantos ! You are confirming what I was thinking.
Thanks for the tip on SCORM Cloud!
Have you got experience with sharing e-learnings via XCL Build Capable (making use of LRS)?
I am testing this software for sharing and tracking learning links. I can upload SCORM or xAPI files.
Would it work the same way as content hosted in an LMS environment?

Hi FamiliezorgO-Vl,
Great follow-up question!
I am not familiar with XCL Build Capable myself, so I cannot speak to how it handles hosting or tracking. Other community members who use XCL may be able to chime in and share their experience.
Thanks again for confirming that the tip regarding SCORM Cloud was helpful. That should give you a good baseline for how your Rise content should behave in a controlled learning environment.

EricSantos what is your experience with publishing content for web distribution (https://www.articulatesupport.com/article/Rise-360-Publishing-Content-for-Web-Distribution)?
I guess it will be the same as we cannot control the output?- EricSantos2 months agoStaff
Hi FamiliezorgO-Vl,
You’re exactly right! When you publish Rise content for web distribution, the course is still displayed in the learner’s browser, so browser-level settings like automatic translation can still affect how text appears. Since the output isn’t running inside an LMS, there’s no built-in control to block that behavior.
If your learners will continue to access courses through preview links for now, one option is to add a short note at the start of the course reminding them to turn off automatic translation for the best viewing experience.
Once your courses are hosted in an LMS or a controlled environment, you’ll have much more consistent results.
