Thank you for your response to my request for help!
What I was able to do:- slightly compress the videos so as not to lose quality,
- and when exporting the .story file to a .zip SCORM package, I deselected the adaptive media quality setting during playback in order to have fixed quality.
In this way, I was able to get below the 262 MB limit.

Here's another vote for talking to your LMS provider. 262 Mb presumes that you essentially won't have video content, and puts a really low ceiling on audio content.
