Items on timeline show up at wrong time
I am working on a complicated annotated video that involves many different elements appearing and disappearing throughout the timeline of the video. I've run into a situation where the item is placed at a specific time on the timeline, but when you preview the slide it shows up too early or too late. Because it's showing on the timeline at the right spot, I'm not sure how to correct the issue. Has anyone run into this or have any suggestions?
Without seeing the file it's difficult to know if there's an issue with how it's designed or if you're running into a bug the support team should review. I'd contact the support team and they can look at your file.
Hi Kristin,
I'd be happy to take a look. Please share your .story project file so we can investigate what's happening with your permission. You can share it publicly here or send it to me privately by uploading it here. I'll delete it when I'm done troubleshooting.

I have run into this issue several times, usually where content (text, image, shape, etc.) appears up to several seconds AFTER it is scheduled to appear (based on either its in-point on the timeline, or Storyline arriving at a cue point). It will happen with either an audio file or a video file playing.
Curiously, the issue does not typically manifest when I preview using the Play/Pause/Stop buttons in the bottom-left corner of the timeline. For whatever reason, "Preview" loses sync while timeline preview does not.
To add to it, I have seen a vendor-created Storyline course "lose sync" when I had a Storyline file open in the background. Others in my workgroup (who do not have Storyline) did NOT run into the issue.
