JAWS and table of contents problem

JAWS is not reading the table of content numbers, only the text for each entry. Is this by design? My client really wants the numbers available via JAWS.

Thanks,

Brian

  • Hi Brian,

Thank you for reaching out and bringing this to our attention!

I’ve tested this on my end and I am also finding that the slide numbers aren’t read when navigating to the Menu. I used both JAWS and NVDA.

I’ve logged this as a software bug where slide numbers aren’t announced by NVDA and JAWS when the Menu includes the slide number and slide title. I’ll be sure to update this discussion if the bug is fixed in an upcoming update!

Thanks for taking the time to share this issue with us!

Thank you for your help. For now, I’ll enter the numbers into the slide description in the TOC.

      Regards,

      Brian

  • Hi Brian,

I have some great news to share. We just released another update for Storyline 360. In Update 68, we’ve included important fixes and new features.

One of the fixes we’ve included is:

NVDA and JAWS don't read Slide Number in the Menu

To take advantage of this update, launch the Articulate 360 desktop app on your computer and click the Update button next to Storyline 360. You'll find our step-by-step instructions here.

Please let me know if you need additional help!
