Link to open a PowerPoint Show
I have a button in Storyline that links to an external PowerPoint Show. Is there a way to program it to open automatically instead of having to download it first?

Hi Tanya,
The best way to link to a file is to upload the file to a webserver and then link to the file's URL. Here's an article with more about that process.
Thanks for reaching out!

Hi John, thanks so much for your reply. I did already have the trigger formatted like this article states, but I always have to download the file to see it. What I want is for the file to open in the browser instead. Is that a possibility?
Hi Tanya,
I'm happy to chime in! It's not possible to automatically open PowerPoint show files from a web source; it will be downloaded, and you need to click on the downloaded file to open it. My tests confirm this with a published Storyline output to Review 360 and when the PowerPoint show file is opened directly from the Web server.
Would it be better to save your Powerpoint as a video and import that into Storyline?

Thanks for your reply, Eric. The video option wouldn't work because the trainer wants the ability to advance the slides on click. They will just have to download the file. Take care.
