Localization Publish to Word
Hi,
I'm currently using the Localization tool to translate my modules into Spanish and Chinese. Some of our slides have images with a different version for each slide. For example, a state publication is translated in each language, so we'll use the match languages cover. So, we've been adding states to the images, so the Spanish state shows when the language is set to Spanish. However, when publishing to Word, the outcome is unpredictable. Often, the English version shows in the Spanish word view, and sometimes the Spanish or Chinese version show in the English word view.
Also, the master slide items don't appear correctly in the word view for Spanish. At the top, the text is in English in the Spanish word view. As well as the play buttons, despite them showing in Spanish in Storyline.

Is there a best practice for this?

Should I submit a support ticket instead? I've been submitting a lot lately so I was trying to avoid it.

Hi jauscrick,
Thanks for walking through your setup, that helps paint a clearer picture.
It sounds like you’re seeing some inconsistencies between how the localized content appears in Storyline versus what’s coming through in the Word export. With more complex setups like language-specific states and customized slide masters, the output can sometimes vary, but what you’re describing doesn’t sound quite right.
To help narrow this down, it would be useful to confirm whether the behavior is consistent across different scenes or if it varies depending on how the content is set up.
In this case, connecting with Support would be the best next step. I understand wanting to avoid submitting another case, but they’ll be able to take a closer look and determine what’s causing this.
If you’re open to it, sharing your Storyline file would help them investigate more quickly.
