Loss everything after your update!! URGENT!

After the update you rolled out last night, practically all of our folders containing our courses have disappeared.

This is a critical issue for us. Our company operations are currently at a standstill because we cannot access the courses and content we need.

Even more concerning, we have contacted your customer support and so far nobody has responded.

We urgently need someone from your team to investigate this issue and restore access to our folders and courses as soon as possible.

This is severely impacting our business and needs immediate attention.

I came here to comment on the folders too. But I think the folders are not missing they moved to a different location:
If you select Library (in the left panel) and then click:

    Private & Team Folders

The folders are shown. I hope that helps.
I however think this is not an improvement at all: there is now oceans of space at the left of the screen, but not enough space to show the folder names.

The title column in list view is so narrow, even on a widescreen monitor displayed at full screen. The title is the key course identifier, can you make it wider and the other columns narrower and use the entire width (extra empty space on the right).

Also can you make them clickable so they sort the data.

With side folders switched on, this is the title column width, ridiculous.

        Hi HVfb0f498d-053b,

Sorry that you've run into this setback.

That shouldn't be happening, and I can confirm we have this behavior logged as a bug in Rise Team Folders. This bug causes:

        • Course titles are truncated in the new library List View when “Private & Team Folders” is selected

I've linked this discussion to the bug report so we can notify you as soon as a fix is in place. As a workaround, we suggest using Card View.

We appreciate your patience, and I'm sorry if this has been slowing you down!

      Hey DriesDokter,

Sorry to hear that you're struggling with the new sidebar view of Rise Team Folders.

I can confirm that the layout has shifted slightly after our recent update. However, tooltips appear for folders with longer titles when you hover your mouse over them.

Having said that, I do understand the need for more control over the width and layout of that column.

Our teams are always looking for ways to improve the authoring experience for our users. Have the truncated folder names caused you to click into the wrong folder or slow down your workflow when trying to navigate your content?

Thank you for your reply. The tooltip showing the full folder name on hover is indeed helpful.

I understand that you're trying to assess the impact of this issue and determine its priority. However, I'm struggling to see the benefit of the current layout. There is a significant amount of unused space in the interface, while folder names are truncated unnecessarily.

From a user's perspective, it would make more sense to use some of that available space to display longer folder names, improving readability and navigation without reducing the overall usability of the page. The unused area is highlighted in red in the screenshot.

  • Yes, we had already figured that out. The problem is that the folders themselves have completely disappeared. They simply no longer exist.

I now have less than half of the folders I had before, and I’ve lost hundreds of courses!

  • Actually, I found out that they are all shortcuts now. So instead of having a separate copy for each course, I now have the same shared file linked across all of them.

Obviously, you can’t create folders inside shortcuts, and to make things even worse, if I modify the main file, the changes are reflected across every single course.

    Great job!

      Hey amandaVERONELLI,

I’m so sorry this update has made it difficult to locate your team’s Rise content. Especially when you need quick access to so many courses.

From your follow-up, it sounds like you may have found the courses under Shortcuts. In the updated library, Team/Private folders, and Shortcuts are separate areas.

Shortcuts are simply another link to the original Rise course. They don't create separate copies. If you edit the course from your main dashboard, those changes will appear whenever you access that course via Shortcuts. This is the expected behavior.

Also, for your reference, users can create folders within Shortcuts. Those subfolders are only visible to you in the Shortcuts area.

That said, I noticed my teammate Jonathan is helping you through a support case. It looks like he sent you an email with some follow-up questions. I've updated your case with the feedback you shared here, so he can be kept in the loop.

If your Team Folders are still absent when clicking on Private & Team Folders, please let us know. We're happy to investigate this further!
