Making and Assessment with a end certificate

Hi, I am making my first course and now have got to the end and need to work out options for tracking.

I want the participants to get a certificate.

I have made the course using Rise360

my questions:

I understand you can't add an certificate in Rise- has anyone found an easy non tech work round like adding a form/certificate/proof of completion?

If you have made courses with end certificates - how did you do it? (as in did you use a different package to rise and which one and can you direct me to user guides?)

Thanks for your time and hope you can help!

    Hi Sophie,

In our LMS we have the ability to automatically issue a certificate when a student meets the course passing criteria.

Are you running your Rise courses within a LMS?

It is important for healthcare professionals to understand the difference between what the terms certificate and certification mean to them when seeking continuing education opportunities and validation of their knowledge, skills, and competencies in any one particular field of study or practice. This page seeks to define the difference between a certificate of attendance, an assessment–based certificate program, and certification, the latter two reflecting the definitions of the Institute for Credentialing Excellence.

Asssessment for Learning (AFL) is an approach to teaching and learning that focuses on creating feedback that is then used to improve the performance of students. Students gain confidence in what they should learn and to what standard when they become more involved in the learning process.

An assessment-based certificate, where the focus is on providing training and education, is awarded following the completion of a non-degree education program that assists participants in acquiring specific knowledge, skills, and/or competencies associated with intended learning outcomes. The achievement of the learning outcomes is measured by a recognized method of assessment that has a predetermined standard of success. Certificate holders are not awarded an acronym or letters for use after their names upon completion of the program. However, they are entitled to state that they have a Certificate in XYZ which implies a level of mastery of the knowledge, skills, and competencies of the subject area studied. An assessment-based certificate does not lapse or expire at the end of a predetermined time. Only those participants who meet the performance, proficiency, or passing standard for the assessment(s) are awarded the certificate.

  • Hi Sophie, We have created a certificate in Storyline, published to Review, then inserted it into RISE by selecting Interactive, then the SL file block. Look it over and adjust as necessary. Notice I added a note to myself in the title :)

I love it when a spam bot helps me discover something I needed, or someone who might benefit form something I've created! I'm attaching a template I use that some may find helpful. Download/tweak/make something cooler! :)

    Good luck!

It's an informal test that can facilitate the revision of a particular lesson or help to store feedback in your school for survey purposes. You can choose questions that are available on Exams to provide instant feedback (scoring will be automatically disabled), and you can also insert form questions to collect data from the users (feedback will not be available for form questions). Scoring is not available in this type of assessment, and users can get immediate feedback for their responses.
