Making iframe interaction accessible
We're consulting with an accessibility specialist to make our eLearning courses more accessible. One of the features we're struggling to make accessible is an interactive Padlet embed in our Rise courses.
Our consultant shared this information:
When opened directly in a browser, Padlet should be fully navigable with a screen reader. Inside Articulate, however, the iframe holding the Padlet is acting as a “trap”: the screen reader announces it as a generic “embedded media player” but can’t move focus inside to read the board.
The iframe likely needs a descriptive title and to be made focusable so screen readers can enter and navigate its content. Without those adjustments, assistive technology will only read a generic label and won’t reach the Padlet itself.
A quick workaround is to include the direct Padlet link alongside the embed so screen reader users can open it in a new tab, where it will read correctly. Longer term, it would be worth checking if Articulate allows setting the iframe title and focus behavior in its “web object” or embed settings. That change would remove the trap entirely and let users interact with the embedded Padlet without leaving the course.
My question is: Is there a setting that lets us set the iframe's title or focus behavior, or is that possibly on the roadmap? From what I can tell, it appears the only setting we have access to is the embed link, but we appreciate any wisdom you can share on how to make this interaction more screen reader-friendly.

Hello CarolinaApar645,
Thanks for the detailed context and for prioritizing accessibility!
At the moment, Rise 360 doesn’t offer a setting to control an iframe’s title or focus behavior for embedded content. I’ve informed our product team of your need, and we’ll let you know if there are any changes that might help.
Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have additional questions.
