Menu not hiding

Hi,

I have a course published about a year ago that I have been editing recently and I can't get the menu at the side to hide. I have opened the player and unchecked the menu box and also gone into this player and unchecked the box but it keeps checking it's self again after I save and open. - Any suggestions to what I am missing. I have attached screen shots of the two player menus.

    Hi Jillian,

Good Day! I would love to help.

The Built-in Storyline Player in the Current Player button is the default settings. So whenever you select it, it resets the changes you made in the player tabs to default.

Once you've unchecked the Menu box from the player tabs, go into 'Current Player' and then Save. A new player name should be available, usually, it defaults to 'Custom Player' as seen in the image above. So if you select the Custom Player you saved, this should apply your preferred player features on all of your slides. Please check the slide properties of your slides as well, the Player Menu can also be enabled here.

Here are some really helpful topics you can check out:

Hope this helps, Let me know how it goes.

    Cheers!

Many thanks, I went back and checked the slide properties as I thought I had switched any custom ones off as when I first published they were all off but I must have done something when playing about and switched all the custom back on.

Didn't realise I could create a custom player so that was good to know. I need to get better at checking EVERYTHING!! when I get error like this so many thanks again for taking the time to help.

  • Hi Jillian,

It looks like Mcgem has covered all the bases here. If you'd like us to take a look, you can share your project file publicly here or send it to me privately by uploading it here. I'll delete it when I'm done troubleshooting.
