More question types
Are more question types going to be included? It seems that only a multiple-choice (single answer) option is available. Would be good to see multiple-choice (multiple answers) and sorting questions etc.

Is there anyway to include open ended questions currently? I have a lot of course content that asks the learner to provide their thoughts. I'm not seeing where I can insert a text-entry box.
Hi Ryan, that's an interesting idea! Can you tell me more about how you would want to use open-ended questions?
- Would the learner need to print all of their answers at the end of the course?
- Would you want the question data sent to the LMS?
Although this isn't a feature in Rise currently, it helps us to have a better understanding of how you would use it!

Hi Alyssa,
We present the learner with some scenarios and information - we then ask them for their reaction/suggestion to the situation. The responses aren't weighted/graded. They're typically compiled and delivered to the LMS and displayed in a compiled report.

I would love this feature!. I'm currently providing this by embedding an activity I've made in another application. It is not ideal. I would like to see the learner be able to answer open ended questions and then download (or email) their responses with generic feedback I have provided.

Would you be willing to give me more info on how you do this? What application did you use to create that question type - then how did you embed it?

Sorry Ryan for the delayed response, I just realised the question was for me. I used H5P (course presentation activity) to construct the open ended question. Then I used the embed activity to add it to Rise by copying the iframe code generated in H5P. I would much prefer if I could construct the activity all in Rise so it would match in look and feel and tighten development times.
Hi Brett,
Some development timelines have shifted in Rise, and the new question types were one of the features impacted.
We're still hard at work on a ton of new things in Rise, and new question types is still on our roadmap. I don't have a new ETA to share, but we'll keep folks posted in this discussion once we have a more accurate time frame!

Hi, also looking into the clean easy approach of rise but would love multiple answers for the multiple choice questions. Any progress on this?

Going through this thread and seeing this asked 9 months ago, promised dates that came and went, and STILL waiting.... :(
Having only multiple choice as a question type completely cripples this product as a quick course development tool, IMO.

Any updates on this? Could really use essay (with feedback per question), matching, and a few others. Having to rewrite dozens of matching questions into individual questions is... a non-trivial amount of work.
Hi Robert,
