Multiple Response quiz but with points for each individual answer?

Hey :)

I need to adapt a series of quizzes for a client from moodel to Storyline. The quiz is structured as follows:

There is a question with, for example, six answer choices - three correct and three incorrect. Each correct answer earns 1 point, while each incorrect answer deducts 1 point.

So, if a user selects three correct answers and one incorrect answer, they end up with 2 points for the quiz and pass.

Currently, I can't find a way to implement this in a quiz. In the Multiple Response quiz type, all correct answers must be selected for the question to be considered correct.

Is there a way to implement this scoring system?

  • Storyline doesn't have a standard (aka easy) way to assign partial credit to a multiple-response slide.

However, it can be done. This post has a file that demonstrates how and explains the programming: TIP: Give Partial Credit on Multiple Response Questions | Articulate - Community

FYI: In my demo, I added points for each correct answer that was selected and added points for each incorrect answer that wasn't selected. But the triggers could be changed to score whatever way you want.
