New in Storyline 360: Emphasis Animations
Emphasis animations—the effects you know and love from PowerPoint—are now available in Storyline 360! These eye-catching effects like pulsing, shaking, and teetering give you even more ways to grab and direct your learners' attention. And if you're designing animated scenes or interactions, you'll now have even more options for creating the exact experience you're looking for. The sky's the limit with this feature!
Ready to take your content to the next level? Simply select your object, go to the Animations tab, and click the Add Emphasis Animation drop-down arrow to choose an animation from the gallery. It's that easy!
And here's a time-saving benefit: Thanks to this feature, you can now preview local JavaScript triggers, such as ones that retrieve or set the value of a Storyline 360 variable, to ensure they work as expected.

Hello Everyone!
I'm happy to share that we have released a new update for Storyline 360 (Build 3.89.32618.0).
In this update, we have implemented a fix for:
- Emphasis animations didn't work after interacting with a lightbox and behaved erratically when looped.
As a first step, I recommend updating Storyline 360 to the latest version. Here's how:
If you have any questions, please let us know in this thread or privately in a support case.

This animation is unusable. When I reopen the file all the triggers are incomplete

The emphasis animations are cool, but I'm also having the same issue as Tetiana and Ghislaine.
Whilst working on a session I find that sometimes when I return to a slide with emphasis animations that have been previously been set up, they have become unlinked and the triggers are showing unassigned.
Please can you help as I would like to continue using this great feature.

How do we fix the issue of the emphasis animations not showing up after we have saved a project and then opened it again? The triggers are there, but they are unassigned.
- Hi everyone! We are aware of the bug where emphasis animations disappear when reopening projects and have been investigating. If anybody else encounters this bug, please email me at akim@articulate.com with the following information so we can continue to investigate and look into a fix.
- The project or slide where the emphasis animations are missing
- Any backups of the same project
- Did you use the 32-bit or 64-bit version to create and open the project?
- If the answer above is 32-bit, then does opening in the 64-bit version fix the issue?
- Did you copy/paste any slides or shapes?
- Repro steps if you can consistently run into this bug
We apologize for the inconvenience this has caused!

Love these new animations, but I am experiencing the same issue as described above. Every day when I re-open my SL file, those triggers show 'unassigned'. I have to re-add the emphasis animation I want to the trigger every time.

I am going to try this again, but could the issue be whether we use it as a Slide trigger instead of an Object trigger? I've been deleting the populated object trigger and creating my own. I hope this is it.
So I plan to program a few tonight then see if they keep permanently. - marcello_Community Member
I also get all emphasis animations deleted after saving and reopening the project.

As noted by a few others, my emphasis animations disappear. I can't nail down if it happens only when I rename the file (for a new edit date) or just when closing and reopening, or when publishing. But it is incredibly frustrating! This is happening in multiple courses; one file that was updated and one that was brand new just last week.
Every time I make a small edit I have to go through each slide that has emphasis and re-assign the trigger to the animation (the trigger remains, the emphasis is just unassigned... "When timeline reaches cue point #1, emphasize object using unassigned."
