Non-breaking spaces in Rise?

Hi. Is it possible to insert a non-breaking space into a lesson name (or elsewhere)?

I have a lesson whose name ends with "...Session 3". When viewing the course, the 3 wraps to the 2nd line in the contents pane on the left, as shown in the shot.

  • Hi there, Christine. On Windows keyboards with a number pad, you can use Alt+0160 to add non-breaking spaces to your Rise 360 text, including course and lesson titles. Yay!

For now, it's not a feature that works with Mac OS. We'll let you know if that changes.

I also did a quick test, and non-breaking space looks to be working fine now.

Thank you ArithHsu for this tipp! As the underscore is wider than a normal space, i tried it with "." and this worked perfectly fine!

I would however prefer if Articulate did offer a solution on this, as the translation service will be confused if we send things like "z..B." or "10.min" into translation...

This issue is still high on our wish list as well. Posting this comment to receive a notification when (or if) this is fixed... This should be a basic feature in typography.

On a related note, I recently found you can insert a soft hyphen (optional hyphen) by pressing Alt+0173 on the numeric keypad (in Windows).

Seemingly on a Mac, you press Option+Space for a non-breaking space.
For a soft hyphen on a Mac, see here.
