Objects on lower layer showing through
Hello all,
I have a project in Articulate Storyline with two layers that are not the base layer. Let's call them Top layer and Middle layer.
I have an object on the Top layer that is set for a default state of Hidden. I have a trigger set for this object to show when a user clicks outside of another object on that layer.
When the object shows up, the text of objects on the Middle layer are showing above the object on the Top layer.
The opacity of the object is 100%. The Top layer is above the Middle layer in the Slide Layers box. Both layers are marked to show content of other layers.
When I originally created the layers, the Top layer was below the Middle layer. I dragged the Top layer higher up in the Slide Layers box.
So, the layers are in the correct order. The content is 100% opaque. The object is arranged at the front of any other objects. Yet, somehow, the text below the object is still showing.
Any ideas?

Hello mcgriff,
I understand you have created two Slide Layers in your slide and would like to ensure the text from the Middle Layer does not show up when you view the Top Layer's elements. I tried replicating this behavior on my end and did not experience text showing from layer to layer.
- Are you experiencing this when previewing the course or only when editing in Storyline?
- I'm curious if, when editing, the visibility is locked/unlocked for each layer, causing you to see the overlap. You can check this setting by clicking the eye icon.
- If you open your Slide Layer Properties and change the Visibility of the Top Layer to Hide other slide Layers, do you only see the content on the base slide and the Top layer?
- Do you notice this happening with any other slides in your project with layers, or just this one?
Since this behavior seems specific to your course, it would be helpful to take a closer look at your setup. Feel free to share your .story file and a screen recording of this behavior in action in this thread or privately in a support case.
Looking forward to hearing from you!
