Without the .story file, you must recreate from scratch, although the published file can be a pretty helpful storyboard.
I'm not sure about teams; when it was new, I didn't find it the best option. What you need is probably a protocol to save locally and backup regularly to a shared access location.
Staff would have to tell you about licensing problems.
