Opening Projects Created in older versions of Storyline
Has anyone else come across an issue with opening a "story" that was created in a previous version of storyline? I downloaded the newest version, as per the prompt that appeared when I opened Articulate, and I can't open any of my previous projects to edit them!

I am having the same issue. After a Storyline 360 update, the story I have been working on for over a month is "invalid or corrupt". I searched this folder (%appdata%\Articulate\Storyline) but the story was not there. I've tried renaming the storyline file. No luck. I tried creating a copy and opening that up. No luck. I tried importing the story into a new project. No luck. Can anyone assist?

Hello Michael!
So sorry for the trouble! I've started a case on your behalf and sent an initial email. Please let me know if you don't receive it!

I know this is an old post, but I am having the same issue and wondering what the answer was?
Hi there, Kristine!
This discussion is a bit older, so let's make sure you get the most up-to-date guidance. A quick clarifying question:
- Do you see an error that reads, "This project is invalid or corrupt and cannot be opened. It may have been created in an earlier version of Storyline."
- Or, are you hitting a snag when trying to upgrade a course?
If the former, here are a few tactics for us to try:
- Close, Copy, Rename, and Import: Close Storyline and create a copy of the file. Rename the copy and save it to your desktop. Then, follow these steps to import the slides into a new Storyline file.
- Temp Folder: Try these steps to check your temp folder to see if there's an earlier version of the file.
If the latter, here are the steps to upgrade a course to Storyline 360. Let me know what happens during the process!

Hi Cindy! I haven't heard back from Sheena as you can see here. Would you be able to share a .story file for us to take a look?

I had the same thing happen to me. Has anyone else been able to resolve this issue?
Hi Sheena! What version of Storyline are you utilizing? Would you be able to share a .story file that you are having difficulty with for me to take a look?
