option to launch with or without audio

One option would be to put each slide's audio on a layer. Then show (aka play) that layer when the timeline starts, but with the condition that the user wants it. The easiest way to track the choice is with a T/F variable (True for On; False for Off). That method could get a bit messy for slides with other layers, though.
Another option would be to add a trigger on each slide that pauses the media when the timeline starts with the condition that the variable is False.
