Paste in place
Being that there is no paste in place option within the same slide, can anyone answer what is the offset of the pasted object in px?

I've had success doing it this way -thanks to Phil Mayer!!
If you want to paste an item in the exact same place, press CTRL +C to copy it and then press CTRL+Shift+D. That creates a duplicate right on top of the original item. Is that what people are looking for here?
This method works for me. I'd be curious to know if it works for others.

It works for me, Hurray! And CTLR+Arrow move 10 px ahead, after adjusting the grid from 8 to 10 px. I'm so happy right now.
After many years of work with Adobe tools, SL seems to have many tiny, but essential obstacles that slower my workflow.I just discovered the paste in place shortcut as well.. saves me sooo much time. I wish there were a way to surface some of these productivity tips in the tool to make them less obscure

Yes this is what I want to do, I will try this indeed;;
It does not for me... I did: select object, Ctrl-C, then Ctlr-Shift-D and neither on the screen nor in the Timeline do i see it duplicate, did I miss something ?
Works for me Philippe - see Peek although you won't see the keyboard actions it shows the second rectangle on the timeline then you just need to move it slightly.
Not working for me either, in SL3. :( It'd be cool if we could just hit "Ctrl+Shift+V" to paste in place...
Very strange, this is not what i get (PC Win 10, latest release)
First i did the copy from the tool bar so it is visible, then duplicate. Then i went back to the original object copied it again, but when i press CTRL_SHIFT_D what i get is not an extra copy (as seen on the timeline, but a change of pointer from the arrow to a pencil.
Hmm - wonder if it's a difference in the keyboard you are using Philippe? I'm using English US on WIndows 10

Same, English US in Win 10, I use Microsoft Natural Ergonomic Keyboard 4000 V1.0. No issues in any other programs ... I use SL3 the August 2018 version...
have you updated your version of Storyline this was added in a recent update

Looking at the keyboard shortcuts for SL3 I cannot see it listed.
I dont seem to get a HELP > ABOUT panel to tell me the version number, but the HELP > CHECK FOR UPDATE says no updates available at this time. The file date i use is 08/16/2018 10:34 AM
