Pick Many Help in Storyline

My pick many works great!  I borrowed a Storyline template so I'm happy with that.  All the learner has to do is select and a check mark shows up in the correct answer with a trigger that tells them as much, then they select "continue" to move onto the next answer, etc. until 3/4 answers are selected (checked).

How do I toggle the second answer off after it's been selected because it's wrong?

Also, how do I account for all 3 out of 4 answers that are correct so that the learner knows all of the ones they selected are correct and they can move onto the next slide?  Do I set up some kind of variables, or is there a trigger I set up that when all 3 answers are in "select" the learner is done with the slide and they can move onto the next slide?  I added a submit button, button so that once all the answers are correct they can submit and hopefully move to the next slide.  How do I ensure they can't submit until all 3 of the correct answers are selected?

  • Hi Barb

so you want the learner to see a congrats layer each time they select one of the correct responses? or should they see that when they get the 3 correct responses?

      Hi Wendy!

I already have the congrats or wrong answer layer to display however they select.  I just wanted to figure out how to culminate the 3 answers (which I presume might require a variable) which then requires a trigger to the last slide.  But I've tried and tried writing a variable to add to 3, and I'm having trouble getting it to add to recognize all 3 answers have been selected and then for a trigger to automatically take them to the next slide (or I could just add one more - "You've selected all 3 correct answers, go to the next slide) but I'm still struggling with figuring out how to get all 3 answers on the same slide recognized in total.  Does that make sense?  They're just toggles that display a check mark when selected, which then triggers the layer that shows if the answer is correct or not. I've been trying to select the toggles (when they have the check mark) to add to 3, but I'm sure I'm missing something, because it's not working.  I'm still very new to this, but I think that's what I should be doing to make this work, unless you have a better suggestion

Oh my gosh!  I've spent hours and hours trying to get here.  I didn't quite have my variables adding to 3, only to 2, when I received your assistance.  I get it now!  And it never dawned on me that I need to disable the select option so that it wouldn't be counted more than once.  I'm so excited for your assistance  and it makes sooooooooooo much more sense to me where to add the submit button, as I wasn't quite sure how to finish this.

Thank you, thank you, thank you Maria!  I've been going crazy trying to figure it out!  I've spent far too many hours, because I knew I could get it, eventually, but truthfully, I couldn't, without your guidance.  I am truly grateful for your assistance.  I am going to try to emulate what you did, so that I know how to do this myself, and maybe finally, I can move onto a new slide.  So grateful!

  • Hi, Barb.

You're very welcome, and I'm so glad it was helpful!

Let us know if you have any other questions as you work on your new slides!

Can't thank you enough! And now that I know how easy it is to ask, I most definitely will!
