PREVIOUS and NEXT Buttons When Reviewing Content

I just read an article on this site referencing how the prev/next buttons will be displayed, even if disabled, to permit a student to review a course with embedded question slides. I have a course where this is the situation except the "next" button, while visible, is not permitting the student to proceed to the next slide when reviewing. Is there some other setting I need to change to allow the navigation buttons to function when the student is in review and the usual "Submit" button is not available? Thank you.

  • Hi Wade!

I'm happy to help. I understand that you would like the learner to navigate to the next slide when they're reviewing a quiz. If the learner is reviewing a quiz, the submit button shouldn't be present, and the navigation buttons should move to the next slide or previous slide. When you say the next button is not permitting the student to proceed to the next slide when reviewing, is the learner stuck on a Review layer?

I'd recommend adding a trigger to the slide to jump to a specific slide when the user clicks "next."

If you'd like us to take a look at the .story file, you can attach it to this discussion or upload it privately in a support case.

Hi Lauren. Thank you so much for your response.  I am not sure what you mean by a "review layer", but yes, our learners get "stuck" if they go back through the course and into some of the embedded question slides. The PREVIOUS/BACK button works, but the NEXT button is not working at all. I will upload the course file in a support case.

        Great, thank you Lauren.

For clarification, the user who pointed out this issue may not have
completed the course. She was reviewing content and was back tracking in
        her review.
She got stuck on slide 24. I was able to replicate this behavior on my
computer in both MS Edge and Chrome browsers.

        Best regards,
