Print list of triggers
Hello,
I have a bug with my triggers, but there are so many I would like to know if it is possible to print my triggers (and only them), to go through on the paper and not on my screen. I mean it could be easier to look for my mistake on paper.
If you know how to do it, thank you very much !

Hello everyone,
I wanted to pop in and let you know that we released an update to Storyline 360 today, which included a trigger panel and workflow update to make it faster and more intuitive.
I know it's not an answer to your specific feature request. Still, many of the details that we've gathered around the need for printing the trigger panel are specific to:
- viewing and troubleshooting a long list of triggers
- understanding all the triggers tied to a particular action or event.
With the new triggers panel, you'll be able to:
- Inline edit - No need to open the trigger wizard
- Group view - Organize by an event to make it easier to find, edit, and debug.
- Disable Individual Triggers - No need to delete during your troubleshooting.
- Collapse and Expand - The ability to focus on specific triggers.
You can read all about this new trigger workflow as well as check out a video right here.

I would also like to have the ability to export or print the triggers. I am a Training Administrator and often am asked to troubleshoot what others in my company are having issues with. Currently I have to download their project and then analyze the triggers one by one. This would be much easier if the triggers were able to be exported or printed.

The update last year is a great one for working with triggers, but there is still an occasional need to print the entire list of triggers for a page.
In working on a complex page with several layers holding trigger actions - and for me particularly when triggers are updating several variables, being able to print them would be helpful. Even with the Triggers panel undocked, scrolling up and own to locate and verify triggers is still a slow and tedious task...would love to have them on paper or even in an Excel sheet, and be able to "check off" the ones I've verified.
Thanks!!
Robert

I completely agree. I am being asked to document the "programming" behind courses by clients. Both for this and debugging, being able to export triggers is essential.
This thread is over 8 years long. How does this become a priority?

Storyline triggers are much more intuitive than they used to be. However, I still have situations where I have upwards of 30 triggers on a slide. The ability to print a list of triggers AND a list of variables would be invaluable. when there are conditions applied, a trigger can take up a lot of vertical space because there is quite a bit of spacing between lines. I have a large monitor and can't see more than 5 at a time for my current project.
This is just one of 5 items on the slide. It has been excruciating building this while only being able to see a small portion of the triggers at any one time.

Hi Kriss,
Being able to print a list of your triggers and variables is a great idea for a feature request and others think so too! A feature request has already been submitted for this. This conversation is being linked to that request, so if it makes it onto our feature roadmap, we’ll make sure to update you in this conversation!
Thanks for reaching out!

This is an essential development and maintenance tool. This is also a way to build expertise in the training organization. Thanks Jay Sent from Mail for Windows

I have a solution that I created that might be able to help. All triggers, along with variables and conditions (including Storyline's newest addition, Conditional Trigger Enhancements), are displayed in a spreadsheet. The solution also handles some other common needs, too.
If you're interested, please private message me or reach out to me on LinkedIn.

It sounds like you're talking about a spreadsheet of all available triggers. I think most of us are looking for a way to print all triggers being used on a slide or layer in our project.

Sorry that I didn't make that clear - it's all triggers in your Storyline course. The solution displays the triggers organized by slide and layer.

I would like to see what you are talking about. In Captivate, we can hit F9 and get a list of activities (roll overs, click boxes, buttons, etc.). We can't do that in Storyline? (I can't find it). Can you give me your contact info? I am not seeing it here in this forum, nor by clicking on your profile.

Hello Tracey -
The forums have changed a lot, and they don't make it as easy to reach out as they used to. I'll follow up with you.
FYI - You'll want to remove your e-mail so 'spam bots' don't overwhelm you with messages (hopefully it won't happen but you never know!)

Having used Thor's app, I can tell you that it does what most of the posters here are asking. You print the spreadsheet it produces, and you can see all your triggers. With a little massaging, you can print the exact parts you want to compare.

It would still be great to have this feature added - the ability to print out triggers for each slide with the image of the slide. Thanks!

The thread goes back 10 years at this point. I think if Thor can manage to develop something then it seems like a tool to extract this information might be doable (?)
