Problems using VoiceOver screen reader on iPhone with Storyline course

Hi,

As far as I am aware, Storyline is supposed to be compatible with the Apple VoiceOver screen reader on iPhones and iPads.
I created a fully accessible prototype, but when I tried to navigate through it on my iPhone using VoiceOver nothing seemed to work.
For example, when I double-tapped a button to activate it, Spotify was turned on instead.
I did refer to the screen reader commands published on eLearning heroes (9 Basic Screen Reader Commands to Know When Testing Your E-Learning Courses - E-Learning Heroes (articulate.com)) and used those, but it just didn't work.
I tested in Review using Chrome and Safari and I also tested the prototype within the Enable LMS.

Did anybody on here have more success and could give me some tips?

Thank you.

    Hi SabinedeKamps

I'd first check the Storyline version, iOS version, device, and browser before changing the course itself. In this case, updating Storyline is especially worth checking because VoiceOver behavior can change between Storyline updates.

I'd also test the published course in both Safari and Chrome where possible, then confirm the behavior again after updating.

    Hi Luciana,
I just updated Storyline to the latest version and it seems to work now with VoiceOver on my iPhone. Thanks.

      Hi Sabine,

Thanks for sharing that everything is sorted out on your end after the Storyline update; that's great news!

If you need help with anything else, please don't hesitate to reach out to us again. We'd be happy to assist you!

  • Hello Sabine!

Thanks so much for reaching out.

I have a few questions to help better understand:

    • Which iOS version and device are you using to view the content?
    • What Storyline update are you running? You can find this detail by clicking on the Help tab, then About Storyline.
    • I'd like to test this out on my end. Could you please upload your .story file to this thread or privately in a support case?

Looking forward to hearing from you!
